Single Layer Capacitor
Brooch
Fine silver; Blue powdercoat; Steel

Capacitors are one of the most common electrical components in the world. Even if you don’t know what they are, you have undoubtedly seen one (or several) on a circuit board. They come in several forms, but their purpose is to store electrons and therefore the electric charges needed to run the whole thing.
Within this I find them fascinating objects and simple as their forms are, they can make for some really interesting shapes made in wire. As they come in so many shapes this piece is also based of a capacitor found in a VCR circuit board.
